jen

yay for gardens!!!

Jane

How cool! I can't wait to plant a little garden next year. How do you keep the deer & bunnies out?

Jen Jones

Wow, I am so impressed. Really. We put GOBS and GOBS of effort into our garden this year and it has done AWFUL. All four of our zucchini and squash plants died so we got NONE. Every time we have a tomato that starts to turn yellowish/red I go to pick it and see it's been halfway devoured by bugs so we haven't gotten to eat any yet. The only thing that seems to really be doing good is the okra and I didn't even WANT okra. Bah!!!
What I would give to have one of those zucchinis from your garden and sautee it up with some onion in a little EVOO. YUM! Add a little Mrs. Dash and BOOM! You have a delish, totally healthy side dish. But why am I telling YOU this? I should just send you the fabulous recipe I have for zucchini cake and shut up about eating the actual veggies! ha ha
Ps. Strawberry poptarts...could surely be made from those beautiful red strawberries, right? ;-)

HR&Mom

Way to go. You should try green peppers, they grow fairly easy and they would go great in the salsa. Nice job for your first garden.

Rachael

As a kid growing up on a farm, we had 2 huge gardens. I hated it when mom told us kids to go out and weed the garden. My sister and I would spend hours out there pouting over a job that would've taken an hour tops. Having said that, I, as an adult, would love a garden right now. :) I'm glad you're reaping the benefits of yours.
